It’s fairly big news so we should have mentioned it earlier. Hicksville has a new owner and lot’s of nice, clever new friends. They even have their own website and on it you can read about why we’ve merged with their current design team to form a dedicated through-the-line, entertainment division. Here’s what two of our favourite clients had to say:
“Hicksville has consistently delivered superb creative work for SPHE. This creative heritage combined with Bezier’s expertise in production and delivery will undoubtedly make for a formidable offering going forward.”
- Jordan Peters, Head of Product Marketing, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
“Hicksville and Bezier – what a perfect match! I am looking forward to working with this new ‘blended family’ and just know you will complement each other’s strengths brilliantly. Separately you were great, together you will be unstoppable! Congratulations – it’s great news for you and your clients.”
- Kay Vincent, Senior Creative Services Manager, Disney Home Entertainment.
At last we’ve got our arses in gear and have posted our portfolio. It’s a big clump of pretty much anything that still looks halfway decent from the past and the most interesting examples of our recent work. Click the ‘portfolio’ link to the left and have fun!

This party was scary good! Thanks to everyone who came and made such an incredible effort to dress up! Biggest thanks of all to Mari though, our poor cleaner!

For the second time in 2 weeks Hicksville attended a big fat Premiere. This week it was the turn of The Karate Kid to grace our Thursday evening with stars, glamour and pizzazz. Thanks very much to Sony Pictures who laid on canapes, alcoholic refreshments and breakdancers a-plenty. Not to mention a kick-ass film that managed to reference without ruining, pay homage without… Anyway it was awesome. Go see it. Take your friends. Beat up some bullies. Feel good about yourself.

Last night Hicksville attended the World Premiere of Inception. Also in attendance were Leo DiCaprio, Michael Caine and Christopher Nolan. The film is incredible, but was slightly pipped by the after party in Battersea Power Station. Other high points included being mistaken for the Foals by the talent spotter and the lamb koftas canapes. Awesome night. Thanks to Sara and Sarah at Warner Bros!

Last weekend we celebrated our fifth birthday with a ‘Hick-nic’ in Regents Park. Our friends and some esteemed clients from Sony, Warner & Disney attended to witness expert frisbee throwing, taste our three roast hams and drink their weight in Pimms. Thank god the weather held out! Looks like another Hicksville tradition is born.
OK, I’ve made a playlist to get me around Monday’s BUPA 10K run. My aim is to make it in 45 minutes so to pace myself going round (there are markers every 1km) I’ve picked a 9 minute song to start and eight further four-and-a-half minute tracks. Songs with pun titles not intentional.
1. TWO TRIBES (FOR THE VICTIMS OF RAVISHMENT REMIX): Frankie Goes to Hollywood (9:07)
2. 100 MILES AND RUNNIN’: NWA (4:20)
3. MANEATER: Hall & Oates (4:34)
4. WHEN?: Jimmy Castor Bunch (4:30)
5. RUNNIN’ DOWN A DREAM: Tom Petty (4:24)
6. NO ONE KNOWS: Queens of the Stone Age (4:37)
7. MUSICAL MASSACRE: Eric B & Rakim (4:28)
8. BREAKIN’ …THERE’S NO STOPPIN’ US: Ollie & Jerry (4:29)
9. THE CHAIN: FLEETWOOD MAC (4:30)
…and if I don’t make it:
LOSER: Beck

Last night you may have overheard some pretty rambunctious behaviour in East London. It was us. Hicksville descended en mass with a few of our friends; Nat from Warner Music, Jess from Harper Collins and Adele from Woodthorpe. Great Pizza, great Gavi di Gavi, prosecco, cocktails, beers and I should mention the “heavenly” Lemon Pot (see below). Then on to Electricity Showrooms for more wine, then on to somewhere else for more wine.
Sorry if we kept you up!
